EL TIMBE : BIOGRAFIA 2013 (SPA)

Este experimentado dj catalán con aires mediterráneos, se ha convertido en uno de los principales exponentes del nuevo sonido tropical.

Su especial sensibilidad para entender la pista de baile, junto a una técnica fina y depurada, aplicada a los ritmos mas bastardos, crea una interesante mezcla de sabores y culturas.

El Timbe esta siempre experimentando y buscando la nueva alquimia del ritmo global, los nuevos beats bastardos y los futuros sonidos tropicales que andan populando el planeta, lo que hace que sus sesiones sean siempre frescas.

El Timbe creó la Dumbia, su versión mas densa y paisajista de la Cumbia, y la presentó en el Village del festival Sonar (2011), donde dejó un ambiente inolvidable. También picó la curiosidad de la Red Bull Music Academy en la noche de la gran «Tormenta Tropical» que se celebró en Madrid (2011) junto a artistas tan consagrados como Tom Zé o Señor Coconut.

El Timbe visualizó este «Futuro Tropical» con su gira europea del 2009 que llevó ese mismo nombre, pasando por el teatro Versace de Milán donde reventó los suelos para Rolling Stone Italia y en la fiesta mas salvaje durante la inauguración de La Biennale en Venecia, donde fusionó muchos de los ritmos que en este 2013 están arrasando la escena Global Bass.

En estos tiempos El Timbe, como miembro del colectivo folCORE, ha actuado en la mayoría de las ciudades de España, y en muchísimos clubs de la ciudad condal, Barcelona, junto a artistas como Super Guachin (ZZK/ARG), Maga Bo (Post World Industries/BRA), o Dick El Demasiado (Tomanota/NL) entre otros.

En 2012 El Timbe sacó a la luz su faceta de productor, editando remixes para Super Guachin (ZZK/ARG), Bigote (Caballito/ESP), Cherman (Cabeza!/ARG), Sonikgroove (Cabeza!/Col) y Cero 39 (Col).

Además redimensionó la Rumba Catalana, mediante la publicación de su primer EP “Rumbahton” (folCORE), donde la fusión de este género autóctono de la ciudad de Barcelona se armoniza con ritmos tan poderosos y vanguardistas como el Moombahton. El resultado: un nuevo género por explotar y reinventar, muy alegre y bailable, que mantiene la esencia de la rumba catalana.

Timberism, su exitosa serie de mixtapes, ha dado la vuelta al mundo gracias a la enorme divulgación y la gran aceptación que ha tenido a través de los blogs de música tropical y global bass de todo el planeta.

Tras el éxito de su décimo y definitivo mixtape de la serie Timberism, este año 2013, está preparando el Timberism Audio Visual Live Set, de la mano de iB74, encargado de darle la imagen perfecta al proyecto y a El Timbe.

En Timberism Audio Visual Live Set los visuales van de la mano de la música, ilustrando en todo momento las más diversas procedencias del sonido tropical. Un trabajo casi antropológico, siempre intercalando componentes electrónicos que funcionan como contrapunto y se mimetizan con la música. Con este proyecto El Timbe nos propone la union de culturas mediante dos herramientas artísticas: la música y las imágenes. Todo un viaje sensorial, en busca de la procedencia de los diversos estilos, mostrando cultura, danza, naturaleza y raíz.

This experienced catalan dj with Mediterranean airs has become one of the leading exponents of new tropical sounds.

He connects with the dance floor by understanding it, and together with his refined and pure technique which he applies to the most bastard rhythms, he creates a fascinating mix of flavours and cultures.

El Timbe is always experimenting, looking for the new alchemy of global rhythms, the new bastard beats and the tropical sounds of the future that are out there populating the planet; this means his sessions are always fresh.

El Timbe created Dumbia, his own denser and ¿? take on Cumbia and he presented it in the Village at Sonar Festival (2011) where he made an unforgettable mark. He aroused the curiosity of the Red Bull Music Academy on the night of the great “Tormenta Tropical” which took place in Madrid (2011) where he played next to great artists such as Tom Zé or Señor Coconut.

El Timbe visualised this “Tropical Future” with his 2009 European tour, of the same name, that took him to the Versace Theatre in Milan, where he destroyed the dance floor for Rolling Stone Magazine Italy and in the wildest party if the Biennale opening in Venice, where he mixed up many of the rhythms that now in 2013 are dominating the Global Bass scene.

El Timbe, as a member of the folCORE collective has played in the majority of Spain´s cities and in many clubs in Barcelona, together with artists such as Super Guachin (ZZK/ARG), Maga Bo (Post World Industries/BRA), or Dick El Demasiado (Tomanota/NL) among others.

In 2012 El Timbe brought out his producer hat, editing remixes for Super Guachin (ZZK/ARG), Bigote (Caballito/ESP), Cherman (Cabeza!/ARG), Sonikgroove (Cabeza!/Col) and Cero 39 (Col).

Besides this he has resized and reformed Catalan Rumba, through the publication of his first EP “Rumbahton” (folCORE), where the fusion of this style, native to Barcelona harmonises with rhythms as powerful and vanguard such as Moombahton. The result: a new genre to exploit and reinvent, upbeat and danceable, keeping the essence of catalan rumba.

Timberism, his successful series of mixtapes, has travelled around the world, thanks to its enormous release and the acceptance that it has had through tropical music and global bass blogs from all over the planet.

After the success of his tenth and final mixtape for the Timberism series, this year, 2013, he is preparing the Timberism Audio Visual Live Set, at the nads of iB74, in charge of giving the perfect images to the project and to El Timbe.

In Timberism Audio Visual Live Set the visuals go hand in hand with the music, at all times, illustrating the most diverse origins of tropical sounds. An almost anthropological work, interspersing electronic components that work as a counterpoint and blends with the music. With this project El Timbe offer us a union of cultures through the use of two artistic tools: music and image. A totally sensorial trip,that is a search for the origins of diverse styles, showing us culture, dance, nature and roots.
